Dole Fresh Vegetables made the sudden announcement this past Thursday that it is recalling some of its bagged salads because of a possible health risk. Give them a hand for their integrity in recalling a bad product.

Nevertheless, Dole is recalling certain salads, see below:
The company is recalling Italian Blend (UPC 7143000819), Fresh Selections Italian Style Blend (UPC 1111091045), Little Salad Bar Italian Salad (UPC 4149811014) and Marketside Italian Style Salad (UPC 8113102780) coded A058201A or B, with a use-by date of March 12, 2014. These blends may contain Listeria monocytogenes.
Chances are you have probably already eating these up, unless you do like I do at times, let the bag of salad rot in the refrigerator. So you only buy the salad in the store to make the clerk think you’re healthy. I kid, I’m kidding.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency found a sample of the Dole Italian salad testing positive for Listeria monocytogenes, which aren’t typically that harmful, they say, but can cause problems for pregnant women as well as adults with weak immune systems.
“Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause foodborne illness in a person who eats a food item contaminated with it,” Dole said in a statement. “Symptoms of infection may include fever, muscle aches, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea.”
If you have a bag, Dole says get rid of it immediately and you may go back and receive a refund!
